Tuesday: T.L.W. complete quiz on sections 1 and 2 and then discuss the role of sectionalism druing the Era of Good Feelings. Complete the outline at the top of p. 342. Know the three sectional leaders of the day. Work in groups to tell about the leaders’ philosophy in the South, North, and West. p. 343. Copy the comparison and contrasting chart p. 347 Answer Practice the Skill questions. (1-4). 8.2 D

Wednesday: T.L.W. read and discuss Clay’s American System p. 345. Note the effect of the Tariff of 1816. Complete Graphic Skill p. 345. Bring workbook to class. 8.2 D, L2

Thursday: T.L.W. explain how Latin American nations won their independence and became republics. p. 348-351. Discuss the Negro Fort and The Black Seminoles. p. 350. Quiz on Sections 3 and 4 of chapt. 11. 8.2 D L3

Friday: T.L.W. read and discuss how the U.S. gained Florida and about the importance of the Monroe Doctrine. Chapt. 11 Assessment due.  Recap week’s work.  Clear up any misunderstandings. Homework: Study for the complete Chapt. 11 test that will be given on Tues. Jan. 16. 8.5
