Answer the following questions that goes with the reading of section #3 “A New Crisis” 1) How did the tariff crisis lead to the Nullification Act? 2) Why were the Native Americans forced off their land? 3) What economic problems did Martin Van Buren face? 4) How did the Whigs and the Democrats campaign in 1840? 5) Which part of the country was more industrialized in 1830? 6) Which part might oppose taxes that benefited industry? 7) Explain Jackson’s and Calhoun’s views on states’ rights. (Compare and contrast these views.) Now it is your turn- Grade Jackson’s actions in each situation listed from A to F. Be able to explain your grade.
