Monday: T.L.W. View a film on a Civil War battle of Gettysburg. Discuss confusion on the battlefield during the battle when Union soldiers confused blue- clad Confederates as an infantry regiment and stopped firing. The Confederates wiped out the Union guns and the tide of the battle shifted to the Confederates. 8.1 D, 8.5 spi. 13, 14

Tuesday: T.L.W. read and discuss “The Conflict Takes Shape” p. 486-489. Complete the lesson organizer p. 486 for the Strengths and Weaknesses of the North and the South. Note the pie graphs of the Resources of the North and South p. 487. Read the American Profile of Robert E. Lee p. 489. Test on Chapt. 16. (makeup work from last week.) D, 8.5
Wednesday: T.L.W. complete workbook pages 86-87. Read and discuss “No easy Victory” p. 490-494. Identify the Victories of the Confederates.
List the victories of the Union. Discuss the other battles such as Antietam and the navel battle of the Monitor and the Merrimack. Take good notes.D, 8.5, 8.6
Thursday: T.L.W. complete quiz on 17-1 & 2. Discuss the Battle of Shiloh and Ulysses S. Grant. p. 494. 8.4, 8.5 spi 5.
Friday: T.L.W. read and discuss “A Promise of Freedom” p. 496-499. Complete and turn in Section #3 Assessment p. 499 (1-5). Discuss the impact of the Emancipation Proclamation. Explain African American’ contribution to the war effort both in the Union Army and behind Confederate Lines. 8.5 spi 12, 13, 14.
