Tuesday: T.L.W. go to the computer Lab to take the first Math Think Link Test. Bring you brain! Afterward Assignment p. 565 (1-36) Lesson 1-5 Extra Practice due tomorrow.
Wednesday: T.L.W. understand and use both metric and customary systems of measurements. p. 38-41. Practice and Application p. 40 (11-42). In class examples 28 cm = __mm? 438 cm=___m?

Monday: T.L.W. begin the study of The World’s People. p. 75-80. Section 1 Review p. 80 (1-5). What is culture? Why are cultural symbols important? What influences how cultures develop? How did agriculture affect the development of culture? What is acculturation? What is domestication? What is civilization? Homework: Tonight find out 3 current events that are happening around the world to write about tomorrow. Go to: go. hrw. com keywork SG1 CH5. for a web site about the world’s people.Workbook p.7.7.1 spi.2
Tuesday: T.L.W. share current events that were discovered for homework. Discuss Population Density p. 81. Why does population density vary, and how has the world’s population changed? How do geographers describe and measure economies? What are the different types of economic systems? How do governments differ? Analyze the graphic organizer 7. 4. tpi.4, 7.2 spi.1, 7.2 spi.3
Wednesday: T.L.W. discover the different types of economic Activities: Primary industries, Tertiary industries, Quaternary industries. Discuss the GNP if a country. Compare developed and developing Countries. See chart p. 84. Workbook p. 9.7.2 tpi.2,, 7.2 tpi.8
Thursday: T.L.W.Complete Section #2 Review p. 86 (1-5). Complete worksheet. Diffusion has carried elements of modern cultures into the far corners of the world, from vast deserts to rain forest. In 1972, newspapers reported that a “lost” culture had been found in the Philippines. The Tasaday supposedly led an isolated existence and had never before encountered other cultures. However, in 1986 the story was revealed as a hoax.
The Tasaday were well aware of modern cultures. Do isolated peoples have the right to be left alone? What might be the consequences of improved communication between these cultures and modern cultures? What about National Pride? What are some ways that culture traits spread? Discuss Cave Drawings.
