Jan. 28-Feb.1, 2008devil2.gif

Monday: T.L.W. complete Chapt. 14 Test. Choose an Activity: 1) Explore the island and fjords on the Scandinavian coast. 2) Visit historic palaces in the United Kingdom 3) Investigate the history of skiing. After chooseing an activity research the information to present in class. It is up to you individually how the presentation will be presented. You may wish to use a powerpoint. Have completed by Feb. 11th. Film- Paper Clips- About the Holocaust.

Tuesday: T.L.W.read and discuss p. 298-301, The Physical Geography of Northern Europe. Section 1 Review p. 301 (1-5). Answer all questions in complete reflective sentences. Map Activity p. 29-30

Wednesday: T.L.W. read and discuss p. 302-305. “The United Kingdom”. What are some of the important evets in the history of the United Kingdom? What ate the people and culture of the country like? What is the United Kingdom like today? Section #2 Review p. 305 (1-5).

Thursday: T.L.W.read and discuss “The Republic of Ireland”. p. 308-310. What are the key events in Ireland’s history?
What are the people and culture of Ireland like?
What kinds of economic changes has Ireland experienced in recent years?
Complete Section #3 Review p.310 (1-5).

Friday: T.L.W. read and discuss Scandinavia p. 311-315.
Name the region’s countries. (5)
What are the people and culture of Scandinavia like?
What are some important features of each of the region’s countries, plus Greenland and Lapland?
Tell about the geysers.
Section #4 Review p.315 (1-5).

Monday: The Real Number System (7.1.spi.2)
Today, students will learn to identify and classify numbers in the real number system. Students will work in groups to complete textbook page 392 numbers 1-30 all.
Homework: Study notes

Tuesday: 9-4 The Pythagorean Theorem (7.3.spi.2)
Today, students will learn to use the Pythagorean theorem. Students will take notes on who Pythagoras was and how he came up with his theorem. Students will complete practice questions in groups. Students will complete an activity to discover the theorem.
Homework: Study notes

Wednesday: 9-7 Special Right Triangles (7.3.spi.2)
Today, students will learn to find missing measures in special right triangles. Students will complete an activity from the geometry workbook (in groups).
Homework: Study notes

Thursday: 11-1 Area of Circles (7.4.spi.5)
Today, students will learn to find the area of circles. Students will work in groups to complete textbook page 479 numbers 8-24 all.
Homework: Textbook page 636 Lesson 11-1, numbers 1-16 all.

Friday: Quiz on all work this week. Prepare daily-by going over any notes that you have taken in class and the examples in the book. There are review pages in the back of the textbook to use for study. (7.1, 7.3, 7.4)
